Please join us for the first Long-Term Sustainability Network (LTSN) Happy Hour. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, though some will be provided.
The LTSN is forming out of a group of people and organizations who are interested in becoming more socially and environmentally sustainable. At this meeting we will be discussing your interests and what steps to focus on first. Current efforts include:
- Providing sustainable services (website, bookkeeping, cleaning, etc.) and wholesale supplies (paper goods, office supplies, etc.) to families and organizations interested in being more sustainable.
- Providing start-up and new business incubator services to groups of people trying to start their own sustainable organization, including worker-owned co-ops.
- Providing small, feasible steps for families and organizations to take to make their work and lives more sustainable.
If you are planning on attending, please RSVP to ifloyd2@gmail.com so we have some idea how many people will be there! If you forget to RSVP, no worries, show up anyway.
The LTSN welcomes you to our new Sustainable Supplies Initiative. Our goal is to reduce the cost of purchasing business and home supplies from sustainable suppliers by gathering together local businesses and families to order supplies in bulk. We are currently assembling a list of interested businesses, families, and other individuals or groups of people to figure out whether we can reach a critical mass to get this program economically feasible. Our current plan is to have delivery service for businesses and schedule convenient pick-up times for families, though this might change based on supply and demand for this service and what is economically feasible.

The Tower Grove Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation had a great workshop on home weatherizing yesterday. While many of the speakers suggested hiring contractors to help weatherize, not all of us can afford to do so. Therefore, the LTSN is putting together a Home Weatherizing Group. This will be a group of people who are interested in weatherizing their home, and are interested in working together to learn how to do it well, and to help each other out. We encourage both renters and home-owners to join–the more the merrier!
If you are interested, please email Ingbert Schmidt at ifloyd2@gmail.com and we’ll get you added to the list!
